Things we learned from the playoffs

Going into the playoffs nation were talking about how the West occidental Conference playoffs were going to be the superlatively good ever. 1-8, no team was an underdog. Well, haply the Yao Ming-less Houston Rockets, though even that was undetermined given the bright winning stripe they had even without him.

Yet here we stand with a hunch of series that, frankly, have not been competing. The Nuggets were swept by the Lakers, in the thick of which both their stars pulled off bonehead moves; Carmelo Anthony and his DUII stint and Iverson with another classic squall about how well loved he is not in Denver.

However, the things we have erudite have perhaps been the most interesting.

Phoenix - San Antonion
Whatever happens in this concatenation, a lot of it will rightfully be attributed to the hopelessness Shawn Marion - Shaquille O' Neal exchange of commodities. Unfortunately, a lot of other things will be overlooked. Among those is this uncombined fact: Phoenix did everything they needed to do to win the line except close. And they did it in a new way.

They played more excellent, plain and uncompounded...and for long stretches of duration...until it counted. When they had to have a close they could not stop Blockhead Parker. When they had to have a bucket they had problems even acquisition off shots. Is San Antonio lawful that much better?

To be assured, plenty could be uttered about twice having the preference of fouling to interrupt 3 point attempts. When Leandro Barbosa let Michael Finley get that broad open direct the eye...and yes, someone else should have come across the shield, but ultimately Barbosa let him get at liberty...it was crushing....
