ED WILLIAMS AND CURTIS JOHNSON ACQUIRED IN NFL ROOKIE FREE AGENCY
The Indianapolis Colts have signed rookie at liberty agent Curtis Johnson and the Tennessee Titans have signed rookie independent agent Ed Williams. Johnson came to stipulations with the Colts over the NFL Selection weekend signing a three year quantity while Ed Williams’s lessen was undisclosed but he signed on Monday, April 28.
Former Clark Atlanta standout defensive end, Curtis Johnson, becomes the next to the first CAU player under head-piece coach Ted Bahhur to be signed by an NFL team (People of the united states Hamm signed with the New Orleans Saints last year). As he entered the drawing weekend it was widely rumored that Johnson would be selected in the long delayed rounds of the selection. According to Johnson, “The at liberty agency path was actually a more good fit for me. Ed Williams was also rumored by NFL scouts to go in the mid to slow rounds of the selection but wound up signing as a independent agent with the Tennessee Titans. Williams, who played for Alley College, dominated the ranks of broad receiver over the accomplished three seasons in the SIAC along side former teammate and general Houston Texan Jacoby Jones. In 26 games at Alley College, Williams started 24 contests. He snared 110 passes for 1,608 yards (14.62-enclosure average) and 13 touchdowns. He gained one compound on three reverses and was credited with four solo tackles. The 6′4, 206 lb pro-to-emblem receiver has been compared to Muhsin Muhammad of the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears for his big put together, speed and address to catch the round part in small spaces. Williams will vie to be one of the arms of Titans QB Vince Juvenile and will compete for the slot recipient spot, change to an H-Back or possibly see duration at tight end. Other teams that sought Williams’s services contain the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars.
