Belief me, WORTH the peruse…. Impediment it out. I’m even a prouder Jayhawk after perusal this….
A Religious Looking back
In one of the more controversial statements of the 20th hundred,
musician John Lennon infamously quipped that the Beatles were, “more
of the people than Jesus.” Whether this account was true or not, one creature
remains independent: they didn’t have a being on Kansas basketball. Anyone who was
raised with it knows I’m not overstating the substance when I compare
Jayhawk basketball to a science of obligation. Indeed, throughout my life, I’ve
lettered more about faith and the being of God from a basketball
amusement than I have from any sermon. And if Monday darkness revealed anything, it’s that casually, praying

hearken to the commentators on Sportscenter. We’ll peruse every article
they scratch; and what will they write about? They’ll inscribe about the
impenetrable defense and the pesky defend play. They’ll scratch about the
high-low offense and overwhelming big men. They’ll scribble about the
senior direction and incredible pair of scales…
Let me tell you what they won’t scribble about.

It’s not one idler or one coach. It’s not one team. It’s not Mario
Chalmers or Bill Self. It’s not Danny Manning or Larry Brown. It’s not
even Phog Allen or James...
